Unilever CFO Takes on Expanded Role

(Reuters) – Unilever (LON:ULVR) announced on Monday that CFO Fernando Fernandez will take on additional responsibilities, including overseeing supply chain and procurement, as the company revamps its operations to prioritize its "power" brands.

The FTSE 100 company stated that Fernandez will also focus on digital, technology, and business services, along with receiving a 7.5% fixed pay rise.

These expanded CFO duties follow the appointment of Reginaldo Ecclissato, formerly the chief business operations and supply chain officer, as president of One Unilever Markets, who will report directly to the CEO.

This restructuring will take effect on January 1 and comes at a time when Unilever, which has around 400 brands globally, aims to concentrate on marketing its top 30 "power" brands and streamline its operations, particularly in Europe.

In March, Unilever announced plans to spin off its ice cream unit, which includes brands like Magnum and Ben & Jerry's.

Willem Uijen, previously the chief procurement officer, has been appointed as chief supply chain officer and will report to the CFO.
