EU and Mercosur Finalize Free Trade Agreement

MONTEVIDEO/BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union and South America's Mercosur bloc have finalized a free trade agreement, as announced by the European Commission on Friday. However, the agreement faces significant challenges for approval in Europe due to opposition from France and Italy.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated at a press conference in Montevideo, "This is a win for Europe."
