Spain Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods, and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
Top Performers
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were:
– International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG): rose 4.24% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.32 at the close.
– Merlin Properties SA (BME:MRL): added 2.24% or 0.23 points to end at 10.51.
– Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX): was up 2.04% or 1.12 points to 55.98 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session included:
– ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS): fell 1.38% or 0.33 points to trade at 23.62 at the close.
– Logista (BME:LOG): declined 1.06% or 0.32 points to end at 29.84.
– Repsol (BME:REP): was down 0.91% or 0.11 points to 11.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 118 to 67 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) rose to 3-year highs; up 4.24% or 0.14 to 3.32. Shares in Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) rose to 5-year highs; increasing 2.04% or 1.12 to 55.98.

- Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 7.06 to $2,674.96 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for January fell 0.92% or 0.64 to $69.30 a barrel.
- Brent oil contract for February fell 0.80% or 0.59 to trade at $73.03 a barrel.
Currency Exchange Rates
- EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.05.
- EUR/GBP unchanged at 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 106.15.
