Turkish Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, with gains in the Insurance, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, and Food & Beverages sectors leading shares upward.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.60%, reaching a new 1-month high.
Top Performers
The best performers on the BIST 100 were:
– Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL): Rose 8.78% (5.60 points) to trade at 69.40.
– Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO): Increased 6.74% (13.30 points) to end at 210.50.
– Can2 Termik AS (IS:CANTE): Up 5.73% (0.09 points) to close at 1.66.
Worst Performers
The worst performers included:
– Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL): Fell 4.49% (0.71 points) to trade at 15.10.
– Cw Enerji Muhendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:CWENE): Declined 3.13% (0.82 points) to end at 25.34.
– Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV): Down 2.99% (1.80 points) to 58.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 305 to 253, with 19 stocks remaining unchanged.
Commodities Market
- Gold Futures for February delivery rose 0.45% (12.09 points) to $2,679.99 a troy ounce.
- Crude oil for January delivery fell 0.07% (0.05 points) to $69.89 a barrel.
- The February Brent oil contract declined 0.08% (0.06 points) to $73.56 a barrel.
Currency Update
- USD/TRY increased 0.12% to 34.75.
- EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 36.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 106.27.
