Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm SpA (BIT:BAMI), which rose 5.48% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.01 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) added 4.55% or 1.07 points to end at 24.48 and ERG (BIT:ERG) was up 3.33% or 0.66 points to 20.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI), which fell 4.77% or 1.82 points to trade at 36.28 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 2.23% or 0.13 points to end at 5.80 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was down 2.00% or 0.51 points to 25.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 319 to 251 and 33 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.71% or 1.93 to $69.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 2.48% or 1.85 to hit $72.78 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 2.86% or 78.25 to trade at $2,658.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 107.00.
