Portugal Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials, and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.84%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the PSI were:
- EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR): rose 3.08% or 0.34 points to trade at 11.37 at the close.
- EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP): added 2.16% or 0.07 points to end at 3.50.
- Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE): was up 1.92% or 0.05 points to 2.38 in late trade.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
- Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT): fell 2.42% or 0.44 points to trade at 17.77 at the close.
- Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA): declined 0.49% or 0.04 points to end at 8.17.
- Semapa (ELI:SEM): unchanged at 14.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 8, with 4 ending unchanged.
Commodities Update
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.49% or 1.08 to $71.48 a barrel. In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery fell 1.72% or 1.18 to hit $67.52 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 5.70 to trade at $2,567.20 a troy ounce.
Currency Update
- EUR/USD: unchanged at 1.06.
- EUR/GBP: unchanged at 0.84.
- US Dollar Index Futures: down 0.06% at 106.53.
