Brazil Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, led by gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power, and Basic Materials sectors.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.05%.
Best Performers
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were:
– Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3): +8.26% (+1.29 points) to trade at 16.90.
– 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3): +6.59% (+1.03 points) to end at 16.65.
– CVC Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3): +5.99% (+0.13 points) to close at 2.30.
Worst Performers
The worst performers of the session were:
– MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3): -7.07% (-0.49 points) to trade at 6.44.
– Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3): -6.22% (-1.28 points) to end at 19.29.
– Pet Center Comercio e Participacoes (BVMF:PETZ3): -5.53% (-0.25 points) to close at 4.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 533 to 409, with 59 ending unchanged.
Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA reached 52-week highs, rising by 8.26% (+1.29) to 16.90. Conversely, shares in Ultrapar Participacoes SA fell to 52-week lows, down 6.22% (-1.28) to 19.29.
The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, decreased by 22.46% to 31.86.
Commodity Prices
- Gold Futures for December delivery fell 0.61% (-15.90) to $2,570.60 a troy ounce.
- Crude Oil for December rose 0.28% (+0.19) to $68.62 a barrel.
- March US Coffee C Contract increased 3.01% (+8.15) to $279.35.
Currency Exchange Rates
- USD/BRL was unchanged at 5.79.
- EUR/BRL was unchanged at 6.10.
- US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.39% to 106.79.
