Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.03%

Brazil Stock Market Update

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, with gains in the Industrials, Real Estate, and Electric Power sectors leading the rise.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.03%.

Best Performers

  • Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3): +4.73% (2.56 points) to trade at 56.69.
  • Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3): +3.19% (0.13 points) to end at 4.26.
  • Azzas 2154 SA (BVMF:AZZA3): +2.69% (1.08 points) to 41.18.

Worst Performers

  • IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3): -6.85% (2.98 points) to trade at 40.50.
  • Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:RAIZ4): -6.42% (0.17 points) to end at 2.48.
  • Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3): -6.34% (0.21 points) to 3.10.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancers on the B3 Stock Exchange, by 501 to 449, with 61 ending unchanged.

Shares in Embraer SA reached all-time highs, while shares in Raizen SA Preferred and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos fell to 52-week lows.

The CBOE Brazil ETF Volatility, which measures implied volatility of Bovespa options, rose 21.07% to 41.09, marking a new 52-week high.

In commodities, Gold Futures for December delivery fell 1.08% to $2,578.25 per troy ounce. Crude oil for December delivery decreased 0.12% to $68.04 a barrel, while the March US coffee contract rose 3.43% to $272.13.

Currency updates: USD/BRL was unchanged at 5.81, and EUR/BRL was up 0.06% to 6.13. The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.42% to 106.40.
