Canadian Stock Index Performance
(Reuters) – Canada's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday, buoyed by energy shares, as U.S. inflation data bolstered expectations for a Federal Reserve interest-rate cut next month.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (14:31 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index rose by 42.76 points, or 0.17%, reaching 24,965.77.
