India Stock Market Update

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Capital Goods, and Metals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 1.18% to hit a new 3-months low, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 1.09%.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 2253 to 215 and 152 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 3152 fell and 634 advanced, while 93 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 4.97% to 15.31.

Commodity Updates

• Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 9.40 to $2,615.70 a troy ounce.
• Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.81% or 0.55 to hit $68.67 a barrel.
• January Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.56 to trade at $72.45 a barrel.

• USD/INR was up 0.01% to 84.39.
• EUR/INR fell 0.08% to 89.58.
