Japan Stock Market Update
Investing.com – Japan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transportation Equipment, Shipbuilding, and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 1.55%.

- Nexon Co Ltd (TYO:3659): –17.45% or 449.00 points to trade at 2,123.50 at the close.
- Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (TYO:5713): –9.24% or 387.00 points to end at 3,801.00.
- Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (TYO:8830): –5.08% or 249.00 points to 4,648.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2209 to 1419, with 229 unchanged.
Shares in Nexon Co Ltd fell to 52-week lows, dropping 17.45%. In contrast, Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. reached all-time highs with a gain of 11.78%.
Nikkei Volatility
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 5.38% to 26.04.

- Brent oil for January rose 0.17% to $72.01 a barrel.
