Sweden Selects Embraer's C-390 Millennium
RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) – Sweden has selected Embraer's C-390 Millennium as the country's new military cargo aircraft, announced by the Brazilian planemaker on Saturday.
The deal marks the first purchase of the C-390 by a northern European country, according to Embraer. Expanding its presence abroad with more sales of the C-390 has been a key goal for Embraer's defense unit.
Sweden becomes the sixth European nation to choose the aircraft, joining Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Portugal. Embraer stated, "This decision represents a new chapter in Brazil-Sweden relations." Brazil previously purchased Gripen fighter jets from Sweden's SAAB.
