Trump Denies Selling Shares in Trump Media & Technology
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that he has "no intention of selling" shares in Trump Media & Technology.
In his post, Trump dismissed rumors about selling his shares as "fake, untrue, and probably illegal," suggesting they originated from "market manipulators or short sellers."
Shares of DJT, which owns Truth Social, rose over 9% following his announcement, despite a nearly 23% decline the day before.
"There are fake, untrue, and probably illegal rumors and/or statements made by, perhaps, market manipulators or short sellers, that I am interested in selling shares of Truth. THOSE RUMORS OR STATEMENTS ARE FALSE. I HAVE NO INTENTION OF SELLING!" Trump emphasized.
He also called for an investigation into those who spread these false rumors, asserting that Truth Social played a significant role in his electoral success and that he "deeply believes in it."
