Japan Stock Market Update

Japan's stock market closed higher on Wednesday, buoyed by gains in the Glass, Transportation Equipment, and Banking sectors.

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose by 2.16%.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2,343 to 1,270, with 242 stocks remaining unchanged.
Shares of IHI Corp. hit a 5-year high, climbing 18.70% to 9,235.00.

The Nikkei Volatility Index increased by 1.09% to 26.03.

Commodities and Forex

Crude oil for December delivery fell by 1.99% to $70.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for January delivery decreased by 2.00% to $74.02 a barrel. December Gold Futures fell by 1.15% to $2,717.95 a troy ounce.

In forex markets, USD/JPY rose by 1.67% to 154.13, while EUR/JPY declined by 0.34% to 165.16. The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 1.74% to 105.12.
